Windows XP SP1 in 2026: Unofficial Guide!

1) Install Legacy Update to install all the Windows XP SP1 updates (except the KB904574 update)

Windows Media Player 11

Microsoft Office 2007 (not sure about 2010)

Virtual PC 2007 SP1 + Rollup


Browsers (with using kernelxp.dll wrappers by roytam1)

Chrome 49.0.2623.112

Firefox 52.9.0 ESR

Mypal 74.1.x

Serpent 52 (@roytam1's fork)


Windows XP SP1 Notes:

Replace the shell32.dll, shdoclc.dll, shdocvw.dll, explorer.exe, and sxs.dll with the ones from XP SP3 to C:\WINDOWS\SYSTEM32, in so you can get certain apps like Mypal 74.1.x and Serpent to work on XP RTM unofficially.
